What is a role-based email address?

A role account is an email address for a function or team, like info@, support@ or sales@, rather than for one person.

A role account (role-based address) is an email address for a job or team rather than a person: info@, sales@, support@, admin@, billing@, noreply@.

Why it matters

  • Signups: a personal account registered to info@acme.com may be shared by several people, and nobody owns it.
  • Marketing: role addresses complain more and engage less with marketing email, and some lists forbid them.
  • B2B contact forms: they're perfectly normal there.

Veqen flags them with the role_account reason (impact 15), a light signal rather than a block.
