Know your real AI rate, keep every renewal on your calendar, and prove the savings reached the bill

The bill says how much you used. It doesn't say whether you paid a fair price, whether the discount you negotiated is on it, or when you have to give notice. Veqen compares every AI bill with the same usage at list price and at the price you agreed, paces your commitments, and shows each month what a new deal saved, apart from changes in how much you used.

For finance and procurement teams, CFOs and CTOs, and the advisers and operating partners who renegotiate AI contracts for them.

Your rate

What you really pay each AI vendor, as a share of its list price

List prices are public. What nobody can see is the effective rate: what you were billed divided by what the same usage costs at list. Veqen reads each provider's own usage, prices it at list and at your prices when it's stored, call tier, cache and long context included, and divides the bill by it. Billed above what you agreed is worth a look from 2%, and worth claiming back from 10%, where Veqen's daily overcharge check opens a claim with the evidence attached.

  • Your rate per provider and model, with the discount you agreed beside it.
  • Billed above your contract: worth a look from 2%, an overcharge claim with evidence from 10%.
  • Seat tools priced per person who used one, so idle seats show up as a higher price, not a footnote.

Agreements

Never miss a notice date, and know where a commitment ends before the vendor does

Record an agreement with only its vendor and dates; add the commitment, tiers and overage when you have the contract to hand. Veqen paces your spending against the commitment, shows the tier you're in and how far the next one is, and reminds owners, admins and finance 90, 60, 30 and 14 days before the notice date.

Pacing
Spent so far and where the last four weeks' pace ends, for a commitment per term, year or month.
Shortfalls
A warning when you're on track to pay for usage you won't use.
Renewals
Agreements that renew automatically roll into their next term, reminders and all.

Proven savings

Prove a better deal reached the bill, even when the bill went up

Freeze how you paid before the new terms. Each month after, Veqen splits the change in the bill three ways: usage that grew or shrank, what the new rate saved, and the vendor's own list price changes. The three add up to the change in the bill exactly, so the savings hold up in a review by the board, an operating partner or an auditor.

Frozen
The baseline keeps its own copy of your usage, bills and list prices, so later price changes can't move it.
Checked
Every month says whether the agreed rate is actually on the bill.
Exported
A one-page report to print or save as PDF, and a CSV.

Everywhere you work

The dashboard, the REST API and MCP do the same things

Rates, agreements and baselines are in the dashboard under Vendors, in the REST API (/v1/rates, /v1/agreements, /v1/baselines) and in the MCP server, so an assistant can answer "are we paying Anthropic what we agreed?" or "when do our AI contracts renew?" from the same numbers, with the same role rules.

Frequently asked questions

What is an effective rate for AI?

What you were billed divided by what the same usage costs at the provider's list price. A 20% discount makes it 0.80×. Veqen works it out per provider and model from the provider's own usage, priced at list when it's read, call tier, cache and long context included.

How do I know the discount I negotiated is on the bill?

Record your prices or the agreement, and Rates compares each bill with the same usage at those prices. Billed 2% above is worth a look; 10% above is worth claiming back, and Veqen's daily overcharge check opens the claim with the evidence attached.

Do I need to tell Veqen what other companies pay?

No. Everything works from your own bills and your own contract: your rate against list, your agreement's terms, and your bill before and after a new deal. Veqen doesn't compare you with other companies.

How are savings separated from usage growth?

A frozen baseline keeps each model's usage at the list prices of the time and what you paid per dollar of it. Each later month, the change in the bill splits into usage change, what the new rate saved and the vendor's own list price changes, adding up exactly.

Can an adviser or consultant use it for a client?

Yes. The client invites them as Finance: they see and edit rates, agreements and baselines, without access to billing, members or keys.

Which providers can Veqen check?

OpenAI and Anthropic from their own usage reports, and Azure, AWS Bedrock and Google Cloud from the token quantities on their bills. Providers whose usage Veqen doesn't read are shown with their bill, unchecked, so missing usage never looks like an overcharge.
